Filming Process

1) Conceptual Treatment

A short write up - often less than a page - that explains the objective of the story as well as the themes and so on. It may spend quite a bit on exploring the idea, but the story itself is usually not elaborated upon.

2) Story Treatment

A slightly longer write up that would explore on the story itself and offers information regarding characters and the roles that they play. A person who is familiar with both treatments of the particular project is often able to draw parallels between concept and story.

3) Draft Script

This version of the script focuses mainly on the lines and setting of the culture of the environment. The conversations themselves would tend to lack a certain factor that makes conversations seems natural or witty.

4) Finalized Script

This would have the now improved lines and would traditionally include notes on camera angles and movements. Usually a script doctor is brought in for this.

5) Draft Screenplay

This will focus on camera angles and movement. It also will list out necessities of the set and so on. Director should be decided here.

6) Location Hunting

Once the Draft Screenplay is done look for locations that best suits the Draft Screenplay. Expect minor modifications to be done since it won't be exact to requirements.

7) Finalized Screenplay

Any minor adjustments that have had to be made due to location should be fixed in this version. Also, establishing shots should be included in this version.

8) Storyboarding

Basically a panel-for-angle sketch that will help the cameraman and crew decide on how the final shot should look like. Sometimes, this can be done with actors during Rehearsals and Blocking, utilizing a normal camera instead of sketching.

9) Rehearsals & Blocking

This is to basically get the actors familiar with their lines and movements. Storyboarding can be done during this.

10) Filming

Err... you hold a camera and record the actors... And also follow the storyboards as closely as you can. Make sure the editor is always there during filming to understand what the director wants. Make the editor study the storyboard while filming with the director/cameraman. Remember, the lines for the actors can change as long as they retain the same meaning and the chemistry still remains. Check your footage and sound quality immediately after filming so as to prevent reshoots.

11) 1st Edit

The editor will edit the footage with rough cuts and put it all together. This is where the editor and director will sometimes notice stuff that they might have been left out during storyboarding. In this case sometimes y'all may have to pick up shots - like close ups of just certain lines - or y'all may have to reshoot the entire scene. This usually only happens if there's a problem with lighting or sound.

12) Pick Ups and Reshoots if needed.

Pick ups are almost always needed. So don't worry about it. Reshoots however, can be avoided if the footage is promptly checked after every take. And the sound person keeps a close check on the sound of the film during the filming process.

13) 2nd Edit

This will be the final edit. The director has to be there during all editing phases.

If there are any major issues, the editor will have to do graphic touch-ups during

this stage. Let's hope that never happens.

Hey Guys!!Okay i know its been long since either Arifah or i updated.Sorry bout that.Got homework to do,got tests to study for.If the teacher cut down on both then maoybe i'l blog more xD Anw we're still undergoing SYF preparations and Sanjay is hired to help us with that.Remember Sanjay?The guy who helpped us with SDMA last year.....YES!!He is back!And we had our 1st session with him last Saturday...Wee...........Anw just gona post as Assitant Director :D to tell the actors on what to improve on and here's a positive remark.Today was better better then any other day so YEY!!Here's some Areas for Improvement....
Pearry - Still flat at certain lines.Put in more effort.Monologue improved alot though.
Syahmin - Expressions were very good today keep it up.Emotions were good too.Not much problems..
Shazlina - Expressions were very very good today!!Keep it up!!Emotions were also very well done.Big improvement!!
Diana - Take note of your eye contact with Pearry.Other then that emotions and expressions were well done.Keep it up!!
Priya - Not much problems so dont make problems!!Keep it up!!
Ravin - Posture was not right.Did not sound buisness man like.Was rather off.Can improve!!
Anw just wanna comment again that today was actually very good and finally we're moving on to the next scene so YEY!!GOOD JOB EVERYONE!BACK STAGE CREW TOO!KEEP IT UP!JUST PUT IN A LITTLE LOT MORE EFFORT :D

BROWNIE SALE!!

HEY GUYS!!OKay so the brownie sale is over and so is the song dedication week.Phew thank god we passed that hetic week.Incase any of you guys missed the brownie sale then too bad for you.It was darn good brownies C= Lets not laugh at your misery..And let us stare at the wonderful brownies that many did not buy....

Mmmmm look at the chocolateeee brownies that have this chewy gummy texture to it which tastes like alot of chocolate.Mmmmmmm sadly you missed it but its okay!!We might have another sale.Man am i glad i got one box for my birthday C= Well not only did Arifah bake the brownies she helpped pack them too!! * Applauses * She dint sleep okay!!

See the plastic bags??Yeah those are the ones that we HAVE TO WRAP!!Alot to wrap in very little time...Then we couldnt wrap finish so we had to wrap finish EVERYTHING before selling them.

Hey Guys!!Sorry for leaving the post at Ravinderpal...Haha anw today we had auditions for SYF!!WOOHOO!!So everyone had fun with the auditions today.I mean we did get to be Simon,Randy,Paula and the new judge Kara.If you still dont know what im talking about then..You dont watch TV much...Im talking about................AMERICAN IDOL!!With their New judge Kara something!!Okay so the 1st group to start audition were~~~~~~~DURGA AND PRIYA!!

Very nice way of taking the pictures eh??Shazlina is the camera woman!!While im the taking -picture-for-the-blog-person!!LET US LOOK AT OUR JUDGE!!

So what do you think of their performance Ms Jannah Cowell??She did the british accent too heehee...AND THE NEXT GROUP IS..............MALTRISH AND DIANAAAA!!!

Yeah they were good today especially Maltrish.*claps* So Ms Jannah Cowell is that a yes or no?What about you Randy ( ME!! ) Paula ( Shazlina ) ?? Yeah we had fun..............The 3rd group was acutally Ashraf Ravinderpal and Pearry~~ but they wanted to do it a tad later so they changed with Shahirah Shazlina and Raneesha.I dint take any pictures of it but it was funny..Raneesha kept giggling....its like climax *giggles* .............After them was Pearry and gang Ashraf is always at the back........................................And after them is Me and Arifah^^ no one took any pictures ^^ and after that was JinTing and Phyllis..So how was today's audition Ms Jannah Cowell?? CCA Fair!!

Hey Guys!!Hope you had fun at the CCA Fair!!I had fun...alot of it....Haha okay so we reach early on that very day to reherse the script but Shahirah and Shazlina were late so the rest went to the classroom instead to GLAM it up!!

Arifah's dealing with the pirates side.ARR..I have a pirate joke..okay what was the rating for this new pirate movie?ITS RATED ARR!! OKay................YEY BACK GROUND!!GO PEARRY!!SICK THEM TO THE BOARD!!Yes set up the laptops!!Play the trailers that we made!!AND THE RESULTS ARE.............

She looks so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute~~Haha love the gun!!Its a lighter actually..Looks so darn real!SHOOT RAVINDERPAL MS SYA SHOOT HIM!!Everyone cheering to attract the sec 1's...i kinda think its scarying them off instead....Okay so the performers left to go to the stage to get ready...and here's what happened..Why is Mister Mus up there?What is he catching?Why he so tall??Well his trying to catch the micriphone which is stuck....and his naturally tall =D Haha so after the performance we cleared up the room and left to have lunch!!YEY MCS!!Well we dint realy attract alot of sec 1's they were pretty shy....But hey we did a great job!!Round of applause for everyone!!Haha

Here they changed the song to some...Hindie music station and Ravin danced!!Yey Ravin and his 'amazing' dance moves!!

Here Raneesha teaches us a new dance move called 'The box'.And finally the long awaited BBQ!!while the fire was being started..MORE DANCING!!

The song is 'Check yes juliet' .And yes they had alot of fun.

I could tell that the crew were really worn out!

An amazingly long day...

Woh!!What a long day!!From 9 to 6++!!Great work actors and crew aswell!!Anw today Priya brought the burnt book which she made..And its really cool!!Looks dam realistic eh?There was nothing inside yet...But Ms Lim helpped to write the words and they are very cursive..Syahmin added some water to it so that the writing would smudge...Being ELDDS we had some fun before we started..There was a microphone there so Shahirah gave us a live performance..After that Syahmin danced and sang also...The korean song 'One' by Epik High..Its nice!!Time is ticking.T-time is ticking ticking

Yep and after that we pushed the chairs to the back and the tables to the side.. We moved all this there..It was hell lot of job.Not to mention the chairs also...After the really tiring job we to relax for awhile.Ms Jannah bought us curry puffs..and syahmin was going crazy of her milamon...She bought us curry puffs and drinks and lots of chipsters!!OMG!!Then the drinks ran out so JinTing and i went to buy more..We bought coke in the end...Its is really really heavy not to mention we had to get more stuff....After the really exhuasting walk back we finally had our break...As in JinTing and me..They started fliming...Mr Mus was directing us in the morning instead of Sanjay because he wasnt there in the morning.Mr Mus was doing a good job...Eh applauses for him lah!!He whole day work very hard okay....*claps claps*

That is not a bomb..Its dry ice...They later put 'blood' on Syahmin's hand and used mine as well for experiment..Am i your guinea pig?Now i know what it feels like....It looks fake...and thick...Now for Syahmin's hand.Did something just explode?After washing it off we had lunch...

I have no idea what this is..but its spicy and i cant take it....And the long awaited moment!!Dry ice!!YEY!!The effect is creepy lah....We cleard up while the actors where acting...

This is the 'blood' from the CSI thing...Looks real from here..We had an idian dancer to dance for us as in for the scene lah.He was doing some of the dance moves...freaky...When the rest already left at like 6.30 teh actors and Mr mus and Sanjay were still there....And now Shahirah's getting strangled!!Its part of the script lah....But it definitely looks scary....
Anw hopefuly tmr will be the last day of fliming so the actors,make-up people,props people and the ELDDS pupils who attend punctually can all have a break...But that means the mediabytes have more work to do...JY GUYS!!After that week you guys are free!!Can do it derh!!GAMBATEH!!

Its almost here......

Hey guys its like what date?10 of november.And we are left with a few more days to the deadline.....Anw on what happened today!!We flimed scene 1 and it was fun when we flimed Shahirah's toilet scene..When she screamed it just freaked us out... Mr Mickey Mus!!Giving instructions to Shahirah who is suppose to scream really really loud...Its quite small actually..We are in the backstage toilet..Ah it brings back memories....xDSyahmin is preparing for the really loud scream...I thought it wouldnt be that loud but after Shahirah screamed i was really really shocked.....Pearry trying to act cool.....haha Pearry....Here are some pictures of the start of the day...When wwe help the actors put some make up...

Actually Maltrish is the only one who has her own make up artist...cause she's rich to afford her own personal make up artist...unlike Shahirah....Shahirah did her own make up and her eye lashes are super long lah...so when she applies mascara her lashes curl up like magic....im so jealous....Here are some hall scenes....

Syahmin trying to act like an ah beng....or ah lian for a girl....either way she ends up laughing..
Actors getting ready for their scenes...I followed Grace and Shazlina to the Mac lab and saw how Grace edit..And im retarded with the computer so whatever Grace did i could not understand....

She also let me and Shazlina watch scene 9 which was our scene and with audio it was AWESOME!!It freaked me out!!Great editing Grace!!She did great for the editing and is still working hard on it...Jy Grace!!Its looks amazing!!She even did algae on the wall on the outside on the last scene...Okay nothing much happened after all of this but there is a little change in the fliming time...
11 November at 2p.m meet at AVA room...Everybody should bring a set of working clothes...Tmr scene 3 and 7..
12 November meet at 1p.m at the Malay room scene 5 and 8.
13 November are the pick ups and close ups...I have no idea what that is...
Anw to help my idol promote is album i will thus annouce to all David Archuleta fans that DAVID ARCHULETA'S ALBUM IS OFFICIALLY OUT!!!So do buy it^^ its a good album....

Hey guys!!Sorry for not updating for a long time.Have been really tired actually.And kinda lazy to =D my apologies!!So i have an awesome post for you guys today!!
Anw the pictures are kinda in random order and yea sorry for that..we actually rehersed the scenes before fliming them just to make sure that the actors are know what emotions they had to display...and so they could rmb their lines easier....Ravind took over Mr Rahmat cause he was busy..... Go Ravin!!Easy for you lah you wrote the script!!Syahmin enjoying herself while rehersing.....And here's something bimbotic that Arifah brought for Shahirah's bimbotic character....

Wow it's pink and it's a pen!!I was playing with it while the others were rehersing their lines....

ZiMin brought some pink accessories for Shahirah as well...Lucky Shahirah....Isnt this cute?Must be great to be bimbotic...............

Script reading.....After all this we get to do the scenes!!Here's some of them in their coustumes.

Here's Syahmin in Ms Jannah's blazer (?) When i wear it i feel like Ellen Degneres!!Not that im a homo or anything..Its just that Ellen wears alot of blazers (?)Bimbotic yet sophisticated......Ravin i have no idea why a property agent would want to wear skinnies......though the tie looks awesome in a freaky way...Now for Maltrish..The scene where she is suppose to be a ghost...ZiMin is our very own professional make up artist!!!And here are the results!!Looks like joker...and it isnt actually scary..... Well that's all cause i dont have most of the pictures.....will udpdate soon!!Continue with the hard work guys!!!

Today a new teacher comes to help us wiht our shooting but since the main actors were not here today we had to just reherse the scenes that we will do tmr which are scene 7 and 9..
First of all here's Mr Sanjay!!

Yes Pearry is teaching Ashraf....Here's a funny story...While Pearry was rehersing his 'gona-die-soon' scene the rest had to scare him just to make sure he was in the zone...So i grabed his leg...It was suppose to be scary i wasnt trying to take advantage of him!!There's nothing much to take advantage of anw....There was once when Mr Sanjay screamed for fun and every one screamed!!It was hilarious!!xD
Mr director (Ravinderpal) is in a yellow t-shirt!!Looks like Big bird from sesame street....Wah very bright....My eyes burn...Well the day went on like this.....Get ready for tmr guys!!Meet at 3 at the AVA room!!CYA!!

Fliming dates and scenes!!

Hey guys!!Awesome news!!We get to use the hall!!So that means we have to get ready for the fliming!!Actors do remember your lines!!
Here are the dates...
3 November - 3.30 to 6.30 - Scene 3 and 7
4 November - 2.15 to 6.30 - Scene 1 and 9
6 Novmeber - 3.15 to 6.30 - Scene 3,7,1 and 9 which are not completed
7 November - 12.30 to 6.30 - Scene 5 and 8
10 November - 9 to 12 - Scene 6
11 november and 12 november have no fliming unless there are scenes that we need to redo or shoot....
So actors do remeber your lines and people who are incharge of wardrobe and props do get those stuff done and definitely Arifah and i will blog about the shooting ^^

PIZZA!!AND SOMETHING SHOCKING!!

YEY US!!Exams are finally OVER!!
And there's only 1 week of school left!!

Anw on Wednesday we had a great meeting dint we?
To start here's some amazing thing that we saw............

LOOK!!A COUPLE!!1 questions...Why go drain??So unromantic....
Anw when they were happily hugging 2 foreign workers came along...It was funny....XD
After awhile the rest came out and we all looked at them and then we said HIII!! *wave to them*
They were so nice!!They waved back!!
We broke out on laughter...*HAHAHAHAH*
After awhile Shahirah says that the girl looks like a friend of her's in primary school.Whose name is Ameral..Arifah shouted her name and the girl nodded her head!!Wah Shahirah!!Your friend so pro!!Go drain there.........
Anw the pizza came and our attention shifted to that....

Mmmmm 4 canadian pizzas........After the pizza Syahmin(taichou) draws a.....rainbow...Unicorn and ......Po from Telly tubbies....
Nice dinosaur......O its a unicorn?Who erased the uni?And Raneesha did some changes to Po....We call him RAVINDERPO!!!

Today's session was kinda boring since most of the actors could not make it.
We played some games..

Wakakaka~~!!The week is about to end and it means going back to school!!But we arent done with some scenes...have to do them after school then...
I dont have alot of pictures for this post as Arifah did the previous post....Gonna use what i have then!!Syahmin (Taichou) just loves singing...lip-syncing that is....Shahirah trying hard to remember her lines...

So much work to do so little time...But we have to have some laughs at some point of time right? Raneesha's talk show!!She's trying her best to interview Aravind who keeps making fun of her...Like what he would say if he saw this photo....'Raneesha and i look the same' Some thing like that...

We went to the hall to do this scene.Pearry just loves the video camera...it has past memories~

After a long day of drama we can finally go back home....Pearry was riding his bicycle when Raneesha saw him riding it she wanted to ride it too.....But apparently could not
She got on the bike!!*claps*But she cant pedal....*awwww*
Maltrish had a go on the bike as well and YEY HER she could pedal!!
I tried as well but could not pedal.....His bike was heavy....

Just so you know we have been very busy shooting for the past few days..
We have finished most of the scenes(thank god!)hahah..
But it was fun as we had a lot to laugh about
Such as Syahmin and Shahirah crazy dancing!
Everyone was in a good mood yesterday and it help lighten the air..
Too bad Mcspicy(Raneesha)was sick and could not make it for shooting..
That's rite Mcspicy was sick!hahah..
We even had a teddy fight!it was soo awesome!

We have started on SDMA just this week.SDMA stands for School Digital Media Awards.We have combined with the Mediabytes to do the SDMA.They are Grace who is in charge of lightings,Zhijie who is camera man 1,Li ping who is cameraman 2 and Rachel who is incharge of sounds.
Here are some of the things that we used.Make-up incase of poor lighting.The camera,light things and the special TV and beside it is another smaller camera which is suppose to capture the interviews and bloopers!!Syahmin (Taichou)*bows* has her own iMac Swivel in her room as a prop.And of course the guy in the black/red shirt is ARAVIND and the girl behind is Rachel.The other one is SYAHMIN (TAICHOU).Here are the bears that are used in Shahirah's room.The bears belong to Ms Jannah.This is the final product of Shahirah's room!!Is it bimbotic enough?And yes there are alot of Jonas brothers pictures.This is Syahmin's room with the posters.Why no Dark knight?!Shahirah's Elmo...Looks a little disturbing.
Now for some serious buisness....Here are some (actually alot) of Pearry's scene. Pearry having fun with the laptop...He doesnt know how to manage it actually..his just trying to act smart...He acting smart...Cannot look at camera!!His actually playing Solitare....
